Finally! An Obama speech!

Once again, our Orator-in-Chief will swan his way through the fawning crowd, wave to his stunt Americans in the balcony, and drone on about nothing consequential for an hour or so. MSNBC will praise, Fox will mock, and CNN will drive viewers to another network.

Progressives still believe this president can change his fortunes with a well-tested phrase, a clever tagline or some new rebranding of Wilson-era ideas. But at this point, praising Obama for his oratory is like praising a blind date for her personality.

For years, the media has characterized the GOP as an old, white male monolith. They ignore (or ridicule) Republican female governors and lawmakers, but concoct sexist narratives out of every stray comment.

But the media and Republicans do agree that conservatives need to reach out to women voters. Former governor Mike Huckabee did just that at a meeting of the Republican National Committee this morning. After discussing women’s remarkable achievements, he criticized the Democrats’ ideological sexism:

I recently fled the Phoenix area for a cool mining town-turned-artist colony tucked away in Arizona’s southeast corner. The eclectic community of Bisbee is not exactly Barry Goldwater country; on my first visit in the ‘90s I saw the only car to share Arizona plates with a “Nader for President” bumper sticker.

The times have changed, but Bisbee’s politics haven’t. Navigating the steep, narrow streets, we found ourselves behind the Hillary Art Car. I couldn’t resist taking a quick photo of the bedazzled auto before we headed to lunch at a local café.

“The Accidental Governor.”

That what Arizona’s political class called Jan Brewer after Janet Napolitano left for Washington, turning the unassuming Secretary of State into the top executive. Several Republicans thought Brewer wouldn’t like her demanding new role and assumed she wouldn’t even run for election once she finished her partial term.

Far more conservative candidates lined up to run for governor. Then the middle-of-the-road Brewer was advised to sign a popular anti-illegal immigration bill. The Arizona Republic mischaracterized SB1070 as cruel, draconian nativism and the national press ran amok. Suddenly, the compromising, tax-raising, moderate Brewer was rebranded as the ideological love child of Barry Goldwater and Ayn Rand.

Presidente Obama y su personnel de la White House have launchar un websito del Obamacare en español. “¿Viva Obama?” Not so fasto.

El sito releasando muchos días late y it is un Disastero Grande, just like el sito Inglés. El Associado Press accusa la Administracción del Obama of using “Spanglish, not Spanish.” ¡Que lastima!

Translacións en la health mercado estan muy crapo y tenga glitchos multiplos. Uno latino navigator en Miami habla that CuidadoDeSalud.govsounde like caca totalismo. He loada el sito por his amigos y was superembarassada.

Los state exchangos also tengan muchas problemas. Immigrantes en California hablan chistes about la language estupido. “El Presidente has huevos rancheros on el face” said leaders Latinos. “At least Presidente Bush habla español. Barack Obama not even habla ig-pay atin-lay.”

El White House promisa that el sito’s translados es muy accurato. Estan loco. Yo hope Obama’s español es muy better than mi español. ¡Sí se puede!
